Other Gisborne delights..wainui, ten talents, friends

I am having a wee visit in Gisborne with my lovely friends kitty and mike king and their new baby bubba tilly. We have been doing some local shopping, playing dress ups and enjoying wainui beach, mild winter weather and a snuggly fire. Check out some of our op shopping scores bodysuits galore!!! a wicked awesome 3 piece strippey pant singlet top with matching bra, silk peachy dress shirt, amazing little mousey friends made of wood and leather as well as a patchwork dream for the baby room! Check out their loverly home…and some local talents..

This little shop brings more than ten talents together offering a variety of hand crafted goodness. They have been around for eons and anyone can contribute their handycraftness on a commission basis. We are talking wood work to knitting, tapestry, crochet, toys and more. HOLY craft corner at its best and the sweet shop keepers are super friendly and helpful. Look at that penguin and freaky elephants!!!! I bought a wicked salt scoop and two pairs of pilchers that keep babies kidneys warm and snuggly! Don’t think that these nans will be taken for a ride there is a very serious anti shoplifting poster and some threats about composting trespassers too! Remember if life throws you a lemon grab some tequila! ha

GISBORNE…winemaker’s daughters cafe winebar!

This place is a gem just off the main drag run by two sisters who’s father is a winemaker the name says it all duh! They have coffee and treats, a full menu, vino and cute little salt dishes, lovely styly decor lots of sunlight, outside seating, cool chairs and mags free trade choco and pretty much everything is salvaged and recycled from junk, thrift, second hand traders, garage sales and giveaways. There is another little secret inside this secret…the cellar! At their opening they had wee jazz band play in the corner downstairs and everyone lounged and drank wine out of carafes and had yummy nibbles. It was earth hour so they shut everything off and hung out by candlelight what a start! SOOOO worth a refuel or an all day hang out…( 88 grey st) Last but not least they want to book small little bands in to play gigs in the cellar so call them for a musical cellar dream amongst wine barrels candles and local lovelies.. ( 06 868 8383 also on facebook so become a fan! )

Forking Stooks…

Hidden talent is such an understated asset and when I discovered that my friend Sadaf not only had a secret facebook name but a secret talent I totally got a secret boner for her and all her little friends. Don’t even pretend that you don’t get excited and giggly when you meet them. Her amazingness is called “Forking Stooks” and a few members are currently available for purchasing at GAG. Please note that the banana stump and peel are sad but the pieces that have gotten away are happy and free. The potential for gifting a special friend to a special friend just got higher and you are ridiculous if you don’t want some!

BUSTER….mean dawg

I just looked through and can’t believe Ruben has not done a post up on Buster.  I felt it was time for his introduction. He is a British Bulldog/Ewok who is now almost 2.5 years old. He’s insanely spoiled and has a leather and sheepskin jacket to wear when its cold, I will show u that later.  The other night I found him in the spare room at our house under the duvet and he likes to eat swings at the park because he thinks they are alive. He also enjoys sleeping half on, half off the couch.
